they should get the same answer, I think I know where you made the mistake.
sin(x+53.3)=-1 (you may have got 53.1 here)...now sine equals -1 not at 180deg like cosine, but instead at 270deg
x+53.3=270 (and I think you forgot to change side; change sign)
x=216.7deg which is the same

i didnt get 53.3, i had 53.1 instead.
i have the method right for the second part though, thats what i was worried about.
