Surprisngly for these exams, they have not put people doing different levels in the same room, apart from modern studies. But one of my friends who was doing an exam that i wasnt said she was in with a standard grade exam and when they all left it was chaos. and they all stood outside for ages talking very loudly so they couldnt concentrate at all!
Grrrrrr!!

We're not usually allowed to leave early. Not last year anyway. This year I only sat one exam in the main hall so I dont know if things have changed. But yeah, teh past 2 years no-one was allowed to go out early incase they cause a disruption.

I never leave an exam early. I think it's pointless. The time allocated is the time it should take and you can always spend all that spare time checking over and over and adding bits that come to you.

We can pretty much leave when we're done (within reason). We couldn't text our friends the answers though because we're not allowed our mobiles in the concourse (where we do the exams). Our invigilators are really nice; they know all of our names now, especially since I've been doing exams since third year! they're sooo nice!!

We're allowed to leave anytime up until the last 10 minutes.
The only exam I have ever left early in was SG chemistry, both credit and general. The timing allowed for that is just stupid if even I can finish 45 minutes before the end , and Im the slowest workier ever and always get into time difficulties at the end of exams

We were. At SG I left early in most of my exams (generally because I was finished and oculdn't be bothere hanging around). In S5 and S6 I had matured and was still always working when they said "Pens down" (however I never failed to finish a paper)

Yeah, well at my school we can leave whenever, but it's always totally recommended that u spen all your allocated time checkin over for speeling mistakes etcetc, because if you leave without checking, u might end up writing your papper with as many mistakes as this post has, lol, biggrin.gif TITAN

Because you'd distract anyone who's on the home stretch, which in the last ten minutes a lot of people are. It's the same in all the schools around here.

It's not like that in our school. The last ten minutes are terrible, loads of peope shuffling about...
Also, I once got forgotten by all 4 invigilators! biggrin.gif. And you can't leave your seat before they take your paper otherwise you can be disqualified, so I had to sit there like an idiot whilst they put the new papers out. 20 minutes I was there on my own! The cheek of it. Quite amusing explaining to everyone why I hadn't come out though!

That's pretty uncommon around here. We just get up and walk out of our seats, place the papers and any borrowed equipment in piles on the tables at the front and walk out. Quietly, obviously. But there's time restrictions on when you're not allowed to leave: the first half hour and last ten minutes, usually. That may be SQA policy all round, though.

Last year I think I left 5 out of my 7 exams early smile.gif

And for 4 of em I think I took the paper out as well tongue.gif

Don't think its likely that I'm going to leave early this year with highers... prolly going to be in the hall right til the end feverishly scribbling.

For my SG's I think I left early for all of them except general Computing. We weren't allowed to leave cause the foundation people did their foundation paper when we were doing general and they were on a break but would do their general once they came back from it. I think it was like an hour and half for the paper... everyone finished in 45 minutes and we had to sit there in total silence I nearly fell asleep.

For highers though, I plan not to leave, although some people left in the english exam half an hour in... I was like wtf... you clearly haven't finished!

We can't leave during the first fifteen minutes and we can't leave when there's ten minutes left cause we'll distract people.
