In true line with the recent posts who's all going to Glasgow and what faculty?

I'm in the Law faculty. I'm trying to choose my options at the moment but am getting no-where fast!

Had a meeting with an adviser last week and it seemed pretty cool.

Heyy I got a letter through the other week that has a leaflet about a Freshers Week pass so that you can go to all of the events. It's £30 though, anyone else got this? Would it be worthwhile getting and who else is gonna get one?

I got it. I haven't sent it off yet though. I notice Broughy said in the Strathclyde thread that if your not going to everything at their freshers week then there's not much point getting a weekly pass. I'm jsut wondering if it is the same in the Glasgow one.

at Glasgow's Freshers' Week last year, I spent £30 on a pass! I never used it once! I was workin most nights (apart from 2 if i remember) the daytime events are free eg Freshers' Fair. So if you are not gonna be able to make every nite then theres no point in spending 30. If I remember, the night time events eg gigs were only for Freshers'. So any1 not owning a pass will not have proof of being a fresher.

I'm going to Glasgow. I'm doing French with Film and TV Studies. And I think I'm doing Spanish as well, if I can. The beginners one. Just for a laugh really.

I have my meeting with my adviser on the, erm... 7th?

I've provisionally decided my course options

* Principles of Private Law (40 credits)
* Sources and institutions in Scots Law (40)
* Criminal law and evidence (20)
* Maths (20) ph34r.gif

My advisers meeting is the day after the registration according to the orientation booklet unsure.gif I don't get it as the booklet says you should meet your adviser before registering.

SPANISH 1B 40 credits
FILM AND TELEVISION STUDIES 1A: READING THE SCREEN - CINEMA 20 credits
FILM AND TELEVISION STUDIES 1B: READING THE SCREEN- TELEVISION 20 credits

Are you just doin maths for 1 term then? eg Maths 1R? Since its only worth 20 credits, that means you only study if for one term. I take it you will be studyin the Criminal Lay and Evidence in the other term in place of the maths?

usually, ppl do 60 credits of work per semester.

eg In semester 1 I done Physics1X(20 credits) Maths1R(20 credits) and half of the Geography1 course (20 credits)

and the other modules/sections in semester 2 (amounting to 60 credits)

What you are planning to do is 80 credits in semester 1 and 40 in semester 2

I think that is good in terms of you havin a load of free time in semester 2, but in semester 1 your gona have a huge workload and a very bulky timetable!

but good luck!!

I think an email to my adviser is well overdue.

If i switch criminal law to roman law of property (which is in sem 2) it should all be fine! I do want to do criminal law though, so hopefully that is still available to 2nd year students...
