I'm taking higher history this year although I've never taken history before!
Oh weep for Adonais—he is dead!
Wake, melancholy Mother, wake and weep!
Yet wherefore? Quench within their burning bed
Thy fiery tears, and let thy loud heart keep,
Like his, a mute and uncomplaining sleep;
Wake, melancholy Mother, wake and weep!

Thy fiery tears, and let thy loud heart keep,
Like his, a mute and uncomplaining sleep;

History is kind of like english with the two essays and alayising the sources. It was one of my favourite subjects last year and I wouldn't say it was very hard as long as you revise loads! Doing a crash higher should be fine because there isn't that much from standard grade in it!

i thought the history course was REALLY good. if youenjoy what you are writing about it makes it a ton easier to write an essay about it.

I'm doing Higher History. I'm finding it really interesting but there is a lot of writing! What I like best is the extended response - I'm doing mine on appeasement,

Have you sat Higher English? The reason I ask is that the above problem is most probably not down to your understanding of History, but English. The better your English is then the easier you will find it to get the point out concisely when writing an essay. One way to solve this quickly (and to help with English) is to read a good quality newspaper (eg The Independent; Glasgow Herald; The Scotsman etc) looking up any words you don't understand in the dictionary and creating word banks to learn. Hope that helps (don't take it the wrong way if you happen to have an ‘A’ in H English, just what I can read from the situation)
