chemistry is just like any other subject so past papers and stuff

What i have been doing this year is doing past papers and learning the notes from questions in past papers i dont know.

For chemistry you should try to make sure you can do all the multiple choice questions because they tend to overlap from year to year

If i am not here i am somewhere else

You could a past paper with no revision and see what you get and what you are weak at , then look over notes and do another past paper, and then you will keep getting better biggrin.gif

Get a piece of A4 paper and divide into 8 small pieces. On one side write a question and on the other an answer. First look at the answers. Then look at the questions to see if you can remember the answers. For example:

The colour changes for oxidizing agents.
What makes an alcohol an alcohol and a ketone a ketone.
Differences between fats and oils.

I don't take credit for this. My chemistry teacher once suggested the idea.

just memorize every thing in the text book or revision book, then do all the past papers ^^

My chem teacher actually gave us a prelim analysis. She took the questions and divided them into the sections ie SG,Hydrocarbons etc. Then we got our prelims and if we got it right then we ticked bside the Q on a separate piece of paper and it allowed us to see our weak points. Its a bit late now to post this tho.....yes past papers are a very good source for Chemistry.

I never got my chemistry prelim paper back. The teacher just read out everyones marks to the class. In fact now I think about it I have never received a test paper back in chemistry or has a teacher gone over the questions (just read out the marks to the class). I find this quite bizzare considering no other subject does this.

I never had a major problem with this (for reasons I will not mention in case I make someone jealous) so I didn't complain. However I still find it weird.

You should do as many past papers as you can, especially calculations questions which require a lot of practise.

In the absence of the reason being mentioned I am guessing that your teacher gave you lollipops.
