Have any of you crashed Higher Accounts this year?

I'm thinking of taking it on next year and wondered if it was a tough subject to do without having done the standard grade unsure.gif

Any comments would be really appreciated biggrin.gif

I'm pretty sure there are a couple of people in my school crashing it this year, although i've not had the chance to speak to them about it yet. Thought i would ask here while i had the chance.

I don't think my school would have us do extra periods of it. Well, at least they don't when crashing any other subjects. Maybe a few lunchtimes here and there just to catch up...but i think i could handle that.

Is the actual course difficult ?

SG Admin to Higher Accounts, speaking utter rubbish there!
But yes it is easy enough to crash! I am crashing it,I never did extra periods. I had the flu at my prelim and still got an A even though I couldnt even pick up the pen without my hands aching ! It is ok to do really

Yeah we were told that basicly all the business type subjects at standard grade can lead to the others at higher! I did SG Acoounts then went on to do crash Higher Business Management, my friend did SG Business Management then did crash Higher Admin and another did SG Admin and went to Crash higher Accounts. So yeah we have always been told that!

Yes Business and Admin have a crossover.
Yes Business and Accounts have a very substantial crossover.
But Admin and Accounts theres not really a strong connection it will help you but it will still be like starting anew.

You should totally chose it next year! It is my absolute favourite subject and tomorrow is a sad day in my opinion since it is the last day of Accounts at school because we can't do AH at my school (sob). It is a brilliant subject and usually the classes are small so if you find anything too difficult the teacher would be able to help you one on one in class time. But you should DEFINETELY take it you so won't regret it.

At my school you can only do a crash higher in accounts. It's easy enough as long as you concentrate but theres a lot of templates to try and remember!

Accounts is a hard subject i feel just because theres so much material you have to learn, having it at SG definately helps, its possible to crash but it would be exceptionally hard i think, mind you i thought it was really hard this year, the exam didnt go well, but we'll see on August 9th sad.gif

If you want to do advanced higher accounts then u can coz ur school is obliged to find you a place to study it!! Ive had this discussion with the deputy head of our school many a time and that is what he said!!! I wanna to AH Admin but we aint got a slass for it so THe school have to send me somwhere that does or get me and open course in it!!

I've done past papers for English and the close reading was a tiny bit harder but the critical essay question were more suitable for my answers, i think it all depends on who you are for english and your answers rather than accounts where it's just plain hard! unsure.gif
