1st post here so go easy on me laugh.gif

I'm really stuck with 4 questions. Any help would be great thanks smile.gif

#1) Factorise fully:

2x^2 + 5x^2 - 4x - 3

#2) For what value of "a" does the equation

ax^2+ 20x + 40 = 0

have equal roots?

#3) Show that the roots of the equation

(k-2)x^2 - (3k-2)x + 2k = 0

are real?

#4)

1) Use synthetic division with a factor of 2.

2) Substitute a = a, b = 20 and c = 40 into b^2+4ac = 0.

3) Same thing, except use the bracketed terms in b^2+4ac >= 0.

4) Turn it into 2x^1^/^2(5x^4+6x^2-3).

Hope this helps!
