"What is the pH of the 0.0010 mol l-1 hydrochloric acid used in the experiment?"

This is probably really easy (only worth 1 mark) but I don't know how to do it. The answer is apparently 3. Can somebody please explain this? smile.gif

The concentration is 0.0010 mol l-1 which is 1x10-3mol l-1. That means theres a hydrogen ion concentration of 10-3, which is a pH of 3.
Hope that helps.
