Hi there, Im struggling here with the coursework and thought someone here might be able to help me out :/

We're given a database and there's a question that goes something like:

- Explain how validation checks set in table © reduce the scope for error when entering data.

there are two input masks and a look-up.

Thx alot ^^

Input masks insure that data is input in the correct format eg there are always 11 numbers in a mobile telepone number, if someone only typed in 10 this would not be accpted, therefore input masks reduce the scope for error. However this does not mean that they eliminate errors as someone may still type in 11 numbers but these may be the wrong numbers typed in.

Look-ups reduce human error in that the person does not need to type their answer in e.g someone may accidently type Lanakshire instead on Lanarkshire but with a look up this mistake can not be made. However again, does not completely eliminate error as the person may choose the wrong look-up category.

Finally if one them has a range check or something then explain this.
