Our teacher has given us loads of questions fro monday, but ahsnt taught us the sections that answer them - infact she only turned up at our higher business Class 3 minutes from the end yesterday and dropped all this homework on us. There are three which I can't seem to find the answers to in my notes and wodered if anyone here could help? The Questions are:

1. Why sould the HR department Prepare a job Specification?
2. Why is it important to prepare a personal Specification?
3. Once complete, what are the job and personal specifications used for?

Any help would be brilliant

1. They should prepare a job DESCRIPTION (not specification) so that they know exactly what they require someone to do and therefore can draw up a job contract and an advert for the job. Roughly speaking of course.. it should be in the notes. Thats got a more excat specification and it definately is on HSN notes- check them.

2. To know what kind of person they want so that they can use this also in the job advert, to evaluate the applicants' suitablity at an interview, to compare what you want with apllicants CVs. Again check the hsn notes.

3. As above

Thanks for the reply - why not a specification (our teacher said they were the same thing and that we were to use specifiation insted of Description where possible)

Wondering where I can find this?

Posted 04 January 2005 - 12:10 AM

Impossible to 'find' - you need to ask your teacher for a copy (if pupils sat it last year), or ask him/her if they're pally with someone at another school that sat it.
