I hadn't heard of Google Earth until now. I just downloaded it and it seems much better than NASA WorldWind! biggrin.gif

Edit: Here are some screenshots from NASA's WorldWind for those that haven't tried it out. The zoom/resolution in the first shot may not be spectacular, but you can get images at that resolution worldwide - where Google Earth falls down at the moment. Google Earth has some great imagery (better than WorldWind), but not across the entire globe. The third shot also shows off some add ons (e.g. European rivers, tectonic plate boundaries, solar eclipse lines) -

blink.gif It doesn't take long to open the web page.
It's a program that allows you to zoom in and out of places around the globe with satellite photography to a high level of detail in a number of places.

i think its still in its beta, so its going to be a while for the whole globe to be precise.. but i cant wait for that lol!.. imagine being able to locate your local Pizza Hut.. hmm.. too common.. maby the local bank.. or something.. u get the drift.

So are they definitely getting global coverage to the high level of detail that can be seen for instance in Livingston, London, or Cairo? I know on NASA's WorldWind Forum there was great concern that image rights wouldn't be available any time soon for such a development - that high resolution images worldwide weren't even in the public domain. Who are Google getting the image rights from?

i dont have a clue, but ive heard rumors of continuous updates of the images. Its great, everytime it connects to the net, its looking for the most updated pic.. i think??

you trying to get google earth?.. well.. go into google and type in google earth.. suspect its the first link.. and if u have a problem, just uninstall the programme, delete the file out of "My programmes" (after you uninstall the programme) and then re-install.

and.. if you weren't talking about the programme, apologies for my explanation.
