yeah i'm doing higher chemistry this year aswell, and it's not fun, especially when ur teacher tells you that the whole class will fail, and that one guy balanced an equation wrong so he told him to hang himself... and he wasnt joking which is *very* worrying...
Posted 07 September 2005 - 05:51 PM
it sounds like you have an even stranger chemistry teacher than i had
Posted 07 September 2005 - 08:26 PM
tell me about it! im desperate to change classes but i cant!
Posted 08 September 2005 - 09:36 PM
I'm doing open learning Chemistry this year, should be starting in a couple of weeks... I did Higher Chemistry when I was at school but failed it (mostly cos I stopped going to school

). I've been looking over the notes and stuff for standard grade and higher, and it's amazing how much I've forgotten... I think I've got a lot of work to do.

hell i forget what we did yesterday
Posted 12 September 2005 - 08:49 PM
Ahh higher chem, i anyone kina finding it a bit over their head! lol

anyone takin physics and bio too? x
Posted 12 September 2005 - 08:57 PM
I did it last year and didnt get a lot of the first unit til i revised it for the prelim, i never did physics but i did biology, it kinda helps later on when you do stuff about enzymes and proteins.

Dunno wot ive let myself in for. Am doin all 3 sciences this year (and maths)
Think im gonna go and cry!!!!!
Posted 12 September 2005 - 10:09 PM
thats probably a good idea

Actually it could work out easier because they are all slightly related
Posted 12 September 2005 - 10:10 PM
im doin higher chem and bio but not physics, we just did a chem mid unit test and i got 14 our of 20, i got the second highest mark and i got a better mark that the others who were resitting it aswell, and all my teacher had to say was 'yeah ok wahtever, not bad.. i guess, well not really...'
Posted 12 September 2005 - 10:13 PM
Thats possible. Its probably gonna be 1 hel of an uphil strugle til bout xmas tho!!
Posted 12 September 2005 - 11:18 PM
I wont tell you about what happens after christmas then

, it is difficult but if you enjoy the subjects and try to think what you want to do it for then im sure youll be able to.
I was really trying very hard to think about something positive about doing highers, it was very difficult
Posted 13 September 2005 - 07:15 AM
well i took higher chemistry cos i was taking 5 highers and it was all i could take for my 5th, not the best reason for it! lol
Posted 14 September 2005 - 02:25 PM
i missed one day of triple Chemistry as ive got the flu

, and i feel like i have missed half the course!! got sooo much to catch up on before Friday.
why does it always feel like classes do loads of work the day you are absent, so annoying!
Posted 14 September 2005 - 10:25 PM
what kinda sick skool gives ppl triple periods?!?
Posted 15 September 2005 - 10:01 AM
haha! our school! its not that bad, only an hour and a half, goes by quite quickly....at times!!
do you not get triple periods of Chemistry, its quite normal in our school!
Posted 15 September 2005 - 02:25 PM
no we only get singles or doubles too, each period is 40 minutes, except the one after lunch with is 45, no idea why thought, longest we're in anything is an hr 20. i culdnt handle more! lol
Posted 15 September 2005 - 07:57 PM
each of our periods last 30 minutes, and most we have are triples, so thats an hour and a half, spose you get used to it like most things!!
Posted 03 December 2005 - 04:10 PM
im taking all three sciences, maths and geography so its ok because they are all sort of related.
Chemistry is possible the worst tho
