I got METHANOL too. I think you were supposed to look at the structual formula and there was only 1 carbon atom there

As far as I'm concerned I thought it was a fair paper. It could have been easier, but could of been harder as well, so all in all, fair smile.gif

The answer was methanol, no doubt about it.

What was the acid and the base in that stupid hydrogen ion question? I got H2S for the acid and H2O for the base. For the next part I put water was acting as the acidic thing.

I got SH3 for the acid and OH- for the base. I wrote that water acted as an acid though.

Well now we are not out numbered. 50% say methanol and 50% say Ethanol.

I got + or - 9 for Hess' Law I think - one or the other. I also said that water acted as an acid. From leaving the exam hall thinking I had a solid B I am now starting to worry. huh.gif

For the MC question just reverse the top one and add the other two I think.

Edit: I just read that you were talking about the second part.

I ended up with a really small volume. Something like 900 Coulombs for the charge. (0.5 x 60 x 30)

193,000 for 24 litres, so 900 C for around about 0.112 litres. Strange... unsure.gif
