for 4b with the search my changes were

+china +cats -country -pets +band

For the thing about reducting search results I put

"China+Cats"+band-country-pets

as the query, so that it searches for the phrase not the two seperate keywords

Hypermedia was pretty long, but straight forward, nothing to complicated about the dexter and amsterdam models

I'm pretty sure I did pretty well, I got an A in the prelim, but our teacher told us Hypermedia is the hardest unit for section 2 and that it would bring our marks down.........

...but the Hypermedia section was easy for me.

Anyone else done Expert Systems?

I did. I thought the knowledge base question regarding the jewels was ... uh ... intresting. wink.gif

It was a gift of marks. Easiest question we could have hoped for mate.

I know this is no help to anyone but look at P.14 and spot the typo LOL... Stupid buggers.

(COSY CARPETS)

I thought the Expert Systems section was easier than Section 1.

The exam felt soo simple, I feel it was an insult to my intellengence smile.gif. I finished at 2:30  but the invigilator would not let me out  mad.gif

lol INTELLIGENCE

but yeah i liked your answers, very similar to mine, so feeling a bitty more confident! overall yep it was ok, the normalisation Q was good and some of the hypermedia were just crappy, like pres specs are between what layer and what layer, giveaway marks.

My answers very similar to most of those aswell, except...

  c) Team - Primary Key - Team Name
Facility - Primary Key - Facility Name
Booking - Primary Key - Team Name, Facility Name + Date (Concatenated Key)
Foreign Keys - Team Name, Facility Name

I added a new "ID" attribute to "Bookings" as a Primary key, I'm not sure if that is allowed but it seemed logical, rather than having a concatenated key.

when it asked you to make 2 changes to the search to make it more relevant, would this be accepted:

China Cats + band - country - pets

I saw some people put China Cats in inverted commas, will i lost any marks?

thanks

You'll have gotten a mark for adding +band

What was the other change you made?

That's what mine looked like!

To reduce the number of irrelevant results I wrote:

Add "multimedia" and "music" to the search query.

What did you all put for the advantages of the touchscreen?

I said it's easier to use, and no one can steal the mouse! laugh.gif

You have got to be joking... I put exactly the same, lol!! laugh.gif

Apart from that I now know I made quite a few stupid ****(that wasnt Ally editing tongue.gif) ups on some of the questoins. For the China Cats one I started bangin on abut it being a boolean statement, with the + denoting the OR function, meaning it would search for China OR Cats, and not both of them. To change it I wrote China.Cats and just took out the other stuff. More of a Techy Studies answer than an Info Sys one. D'oh!!

Oh well... I only need a B in this or chemistry... Heres hoping Chemistry papers surprisingly easy for me, and really difficult for everyone else biggrin.gif

Personally i finished at 3 and overall i thought the paper was ok but there were a few tricky questions in it.
The jewel one confused me, as did question 2 which was very misleading.
I thot the one bout the pony club was to do with the inserion modification and deletion anomalys??? argh....
was my birthday tht day too so i have an excuse to b failin...
