He means last year. There is no conclusive grade boundary for an A this year yet.

it just gets annoying when people ask about pass marks etc
So lets pretend the pass mark is thought to be 30% this year for Higher English and you got 50% in the Prelim. Does that mean you have passed?
Answer: No it doesnt all it means is people had major problems with the paper. You should think about how YOU felt coming out of the exam room and how well You think YOU have done

Possible A boundary of 67%.
Possible B boundary 57%
Possible C boundary 46%
