"Hence find the equation of the circle passing through A.B and C."

I understand how the centre is 7,1 and therefore it can go in2 the equation (x-a)^2+(y-cool.gif^2=r^2 however when i looked at the answer sheet it said that r^2 was 26 when the answer i got was 25

ohmy.gif

in order 2 get 25 i used the distance formula between A and B 2 find the diameter and halfed it 2 get 5 then squared 2 get 25......is this correct?????

thanks

you can't use AB as the diameter as the centre is (7,1], so you need to use the distance formula from the centre to any of the points to give the radius
