So I went in, got the Zoo and took it to the checkout. Then the jobbie of a womna said "WHIT AGE ARE YOU". I said I am 17 and Im in 6th year. So, she said "naw yer no getting it. Yer in school uniform and can't prove your over 16" with a massive grin on her face.
So after an on the spot argument, I went home got my provisonal licence and went back to Asda. Showed it to her and this other old lady at the till. The old lady couldnt believe that I was refused and started to take the mick out of the woman. She then started arguing with me again and going on "take yer id everywhere", "trading standards" etc.
So pissed of. Thats Asda being boycotted!

It wouldn’t take much for her to be even slightly polite there. These people annoy me!
I think you should write to ASDA to complain. They won’t want things like that going on. Personally I don’t blame ASDA, I blame the woman but she reflects the company.

The fact she loved to take the magazine while knowing I was quite clearly old enough to buy Zoo (not even Porn!) and then she started arguing when I showed my I.D, pissed me right off.
I was going to write a letter of complaint. I just hate these idiots that think they rule the shop and the customer is scum. Who pay's there wages

I once was eating a bag of ASDA's own make Quavers, or as they like to call them, 'Curls'. Anyway, I choked on one - (well I didn't really but I told them I did to make it seem more dramatic) what I found was a hard disk shaped thing in the packet, which was obviously a 'curl' that never developed fully.
Anyway, I said to them I choked and complained via email and got a £2 discount card -

Lol.
I prefer Tesco, where 'every little helps' lol. Our ASDA isn't all that hygenic either

If you hav had grief and members of staff argue with you, go to customer service desk and complain - mentioning the persons name. If they give you one of those £2 gift cards, shove it rite back at them and tell them thats not good enough....if they continue to talk crap and dont offer anythin better then demand to speak to a manager (General Store Manager is a good one to ask for first). The manager is sure to sort you out with summin better! If that still doesnt work (or u dont want to speak to them face to face) then write directly to ASDA House in Leeds (ASDAs HQ), address can be found in yellow pages. Make letter really angry and mention the store, staff members name, the offence you were caused etc etc....and they will get in touch with an even better piece of compensation!!
I work in ASDA and thats how its supposed to be done! I work in the restaurant dept. and one customer complained about a piece of mould on a sandwich (which, incidentally, was the bakery's fault and not the restaurants)...she never bothered with the customer service desk or even a manager and complained directly to ASDA House and was compensated £200 in ASDA vouchers!!
Earlier on, some1 mentioned ASDA isnt that hygenic! OMG! It is, you betr believe it! At my store (ASDA Govan), we have health and safety officials from the council check the premises on a weekly or fortnightly basis! which does my head in cos it means the Restaurant has to be spotless! There is also about 8 members of cleaning staff (called ASDA Aces) who walk about, cleaning surfaces, walls, floors 24/7 (as store is open 24 hours 7 days a week) (obviously in shifts, with 8 bein on each shift!)
feeeeeeew! thank god am finished, am away for a lie down, am knackered after that!

You also get to kno a lot of ppl and I have made great friends. Infact, I could call them best mates! I have only applied to one job (ASDA), I was 16 and its the only job i have had since (I am now 18)
They are also great towards students, givin a lot of flexibility when it comes to exams and even give study leave. When you graduate, they automatically put you on a Graduate Scheme which trains you to managerial level and offer you a higher post. which is great! Opportunities to go further are always available!
