If 10ml of hydrogen is reacted with 10ml of propene, the volume of the resulting gas will be

Show that $\begin{align*}f'(x)=2\sec x\end{align*}$ for $\begin{align*}f(x)=\ln (\frac{1+\sin x}{1-\sin x})\end{align*}$

I've dropped a few silly marks in the "multiple guess" questions but hopefully I've got about 12 right at least because I never do well in multiple choice! I was really glad there was no questions in the multi-choice that give you three statements and then ask you which is true!!

I felt the written went OK though I messed up Q21 though forgot direction at part (d) and (a) physics teacher nearly hit me lol

Also can someone tell me what the voltage on the graph should have been in Q25 [c]

I think my in Paper 1 I did really well, except from the graph at the end and I did something terrible in question 6 so no marks there I don't think, well maybe 1 or 2! As for Paper 2, what a nightmare! I can't even look at the solutions for that!

For the vector one in Paper 2 the one about the cube I got 30

also.

I'm don't know what to expect now but hopefully I've done enough for at least a B! We shall see!

I'm a it nervous about tomorrow, done quite a lot of preparation in the lead up and did a couple of hours today. Will probably just go over silly stuff tonight like exact values, and all my cos and sin replacements!!

Woops that was rather embarrassing!! Least I've learned something lol. I agree that whilst logs are only a small part of the course I didn't feel they were covered that well in my school they kind of left it to the last minute.

This is how I done it but I don't know if it's right. Using the point (4,18) you substitute 18 for y and 4 for x. 18=3e^4^k

then you take $log_{e}$ of both sides to give you, $log_{e}18=4klog_{e}3$ Then rearange to give 4k=log_e18-log_e3

After subtracting the left hand side you get log_e15

take the 4 from the 4k over and divide to give $k=\frac{log_e15}{4}$ which is the same as $k=\frac{1}{4} log_e15$ and hence answer C

Hope that helps, took me ages to do using that LaTex stuff

IGNORE ABOVE: Where I said you take it over and subtract you don't you take it over and divide and this means that you take 3 away from 18 to give you the rest shoudl still be valid!

These were really useful, highlighted a few isuues to correct. I got Q5 wrong in Test B and I don't know how to get it any chance you could explain it for me. Also could you explain Q10 in test B because I got the answer and I don't know how.

I've also got The Great Gatsby which I'll do if my back's really to the wall and I've got a rescue text, The Telegram as a last ditch attempt. Also got a few more poems by Carol Anne Duffy. Hoping I'll be able to fit something together and pick up a lot of the marks in the close reading.

Yes I see where to go, I have used synthetic devision so that I have 1 4 & 0 along the bottom of the table. Now I know the 0 signifies that x+1 is a factor but I'm a but uncertain as to where to get the other factor from.

Sorry but this one is really bugging me and I was wondering if anyone can give some help.

I've cut all the usual rubbish about the context of the question out to make it easier to type.

Curve PQ has equation $\\y=3x^2-x^3$ . The line PQ is horizontal.

The $\\x$ -coordinates of P and Q are -1 and a respectively.

(a) Show clearly that the equation of the line PQ is $\\y$ =4 (Done this part OK)

(b) Hence determine the value of a

It is part b I am having problems with, I thought that using part (a) I could substitute a in to get the polynomial $\\3a^2-a^3-4$ and then go through the process to solve it and get the second root which would be a. I can't get this to work however and therefore I' hoping someone will help me with this.
