#101787 So what has changed?

Posted by bred on 21 February 2009 - 11:14 AM in General Chat

QUOTE (Dave @ Feb 11 2009, 04:57 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
wht was the interview process like? I have the interview for shop floor person is tough going. Certainly when I applied she asked me a couple of questions, decided I wasn't confident enough(which to be fair was probably the case back then) and said ok we will phone you

The interview was quite long: 45-50 minutes. Basically, she asked me lots of questions that typically come up when you google "interview questions". She didn't ask me directly about university or previous work experience. She was writing everything I was saying so there must have been about 8 pages when we were finished. There was also a role playing exercise (10 min followed by 10 min of Qs), a group discussion (50 min) and a poster presentation (10 min following by 10 min of Qs). At least they gave me 26 in transport expenses and free food. I am inclined to think my responses on how I would tell an employee he or she wasn't working efficiently were a bit lacklustre. Interesting experience though and at least I got two of the three boxes ticked.

I see there is a new "anti-terror" law prohibiting photography of police in the UK. What next?

#101748 So what has changed?

M&S told me I didn't demonstrate sufficiently resource management skills so I am considering other options.

Hi folks.
I am in the final semester of MA Geography at Edinburgh University. I am going to the Marks and Spencer Assessment Centre on Tuesday...

#101683 UCAS POINTS - REALLY CONFUSED

Posted by bred on 16 January 2009 - 03:45 PM in After School

1. They only count Advanced Higher.
2. Yes.

You would have 456 UCAS points from those courses at Grade 'A' while you get additional points for core units. I wouldn't worry about the UCAS points total so much, better to look at the entry requirements of specific university courses you are interested in.

#101682 Best way to revise for Geography?

Posted by bred on 16 January 2009 - 03:42 PM in Geography

Like all subjects, doing past exam papers is a good idea. It gives you an indication of what areas you are stronger on and what areas could do with more revision time. Look at the number of marks available for each question. Make sure you write at least enough points that you would get full marks if they were all deemed valid, and write some more if you have time/can think of any. Persevere with the book, but skim read sections you think you are more comfortable with. Also go through your jotter in the same way. Go online for more information about a particular topic if you don't think you have enough.

#101663 How do you think you got on?

Well done.
