Woowoowoowoo.

I'm going to a St Andrews open day tomorrow. Ohmigod, it's gonna be so cool. I'm gonna dress all smart, and actually pretend I'm considering going, when in actuality, it's my friend with three credit Standard Grades and no highers who got a conditional offer to do Chemistry. biggrin.gif

How the f*ck?, I must ask.

I wear boys clothes sometimes. Does that make me a durty durty crossdresser?

Or does it just mean that clothes manufacturers should start producing girlsized Space Invaders and Pacman tshirts?

I'm going for both!

That's because she is over-qualified to work in a shop, ans that will make the employers think she will just quit once she find a better paid job.

And no point in getting a job right now, as I'm just week and a half away from putting the wheels in motion for going self-employed lol

I'm going out later for a cycle anyway so that will kill some time while helping me get into shape again lol

I don't think free public transport would ever work, even if it does seem like a lovely idea.

Even if they can raise the funds to pay the fares for everyone, how will they pay to upgrade the network? Trains are already over capacity in my area and many others, so telling folk they can get on them for free will only overload what we have already. They'd have to spend a fortune fixing the subway, putting on more buses, getting more rolling stock for trains and extending train platforms. Plus, you'd put plenty of people out of a job. There'd be no need for conductors on trains or staff in railway or subway stations since there'd be no point in having a ticket.

Sorry for jumping in, but it's really been bugging me!

Well, since their plans involve renationalisation of the transport network, costs will be a lot less than you think (since profit margins are no longer factored into the costs).

From the information I've had from the SSP:

- Scrap the M74 extension.
- Scrap the Edinburgh airport extension.
- Do not renew our nuclear weapons.

Three easy steps which would easily free up enough cash to expand our transport network to the required capacity.

Also, of course you would still need conductors - they are required by health and safety law, not just to check tickets.

With the case of Nuclear Weapons they have absolutely no power in that area.

Which futher leaves me to belive that MSPs are just a bunch of numpties in a suit and tie, every party seems to not know the powers of their own parlaiment.

I have an economcis test tomorrow - screwed.

I have also gone and left my laptop charger in the uni and i'll probably need to buy a new one. Very annoying.

At least it was just the charger and not the whole laptop you left.

On the topic of leaving laptops; when my Dad was working in Glasgow he popped into a shop and left his laptop in the back of the car. Some junkie broke in and stole it. The police caught the guy though and he had to pay up for it! He had to pay something like two grand even though the laptop was just worth half of that.

Really, Glasgow isn't a bad place tongue.gif

Also, hostin' a party tonight. Woo.

Can I come along?
