So I was very happy.

#12709 stress for exams

Posted by gary on 26 January 2005 - 05:57 PM in Mathematics

The only thing that bothers me about maths is that the NABs are so easy and there is never any time to do harder examples in class like there is in other subjects. So you basically have no chance of passing the exam unless you spend hours doing past papers at home.

#12716 stress for exams

Posted by gary on 26 January 2005 - 06:04 PM in Mathematics

Nope we get none of that in class. We get homework exercises every week at a basic level. My class is full of sixth years who failed last year which was suppost to be the easiest Maths paper yet.

We are told if we want to try harder examples we either have to go to supported study which is a bad idea especially since teachers have different methods of teaching or do them at home which is also a bad idea as if you get stuck there is no one to ask.

about the glasgow student helpers i can't really say because i didn't really have much contact with them but they did seem very clinical in their approach to us tho

They were very cheeky, I asked one of them how to get to Cali University from Glasgow Uni and he just went 'Why would I know anything about that University' rolleyes.gif

#11530 Straight Line Geometry Problem

Posted by gary on 21 December 2004 - 07:18 PM in Mathematics

P,Q,R and S have coordinates (13,5) (3,7) and (5,-3) respectively and are three vertices of a rhombus PQRS.

Find the equations of PS and QS

Hence find the oordinates of the fourth vertex S

Thanks for any help.

I hated Glasgow Uni when I went for the open day so I didn't even bother to apply, I wouldn't chose to go somewhare on the name. I know at least 4 people who have been there and quit their course half way through on how bad it has been.
