Lol, more to the point, would it not be better if Accountants taught us Accounts rather than teachers?! tongue.gif.

my teacher wasnt always a teacher,... he used to be an accountant in many forms, now he teaches and he's the head of the Department,... and he's a pretty good teacher!

Hi,

I plan to do Higher Accounting in 6th year since we weren't given the option to do it this year.  I was looking at some past papers and they seemed pretty daunting.  ohmy.gif

Anyway I was wondering what you guys thought of Accounting & Finance.  Is it hard?

Thanks for your time everyone!  biggrin.gif

I enjoy the course, but it is very hard, in my opinion. I have friends that find it easy and others which find it difficult, personally I find it pretty hard but I'm doing 5 highers this year and and I put the work in for the exams, so I'm hoping I'll pull through

As for your question,... go for it! If it's relevant to your future, ie you want to do something in business, it is really handy to have.

Good luck!

Not too bad i'm hoping.... unsure.gif
I dont think that been taught by an accountant was much different than been taught by a teacher cos in the end it doesn't change the subject thats been taught....if that makes any sense...

Yeah i guess, my big bro is a chartered accountant and he helps me out sometimes, but my actual teacher probably helped more because he has been trained to do so, although Kenneth (my big bro) helped alot too.

Its the first paper i have ever seent hat has had a case study on an industry rather than a business, I thought it was fairly easy though, business management has been one of my stronger areas though.

for the Essay questions i done 3 and 5, but i dont know if i have done well or not because i had pleanty of spare time so i may have not answered fully, especially when you compare it to ermdeviation, i wrote about 15-20 pages, he wrote 29.

I have to say this but peole stay with economics i was just reading something that says that the average person working in economics under 30 gets £38000 a year!!! I knew before that they were the 2nd highest paid graduates before dentists but that is quite a lot.

I'm at Strathy studying economics, never done it at higher, I enjoy it but it can be hard to grasp at parts. Any tips or ideas that could help me? I use the N. Gregore Mankiw book to study it (3rd Ed.)

All my subjects were Highers, but I had to work so hard at english, and even then it was my worst result sad.gif .

English was my worst subject too...and I got a B in the prelim and final - just stick in and you'll do OK. Plenty of close reading practice will have you doing that in your sleep - and there's 40 marks already!

lol, good advice,... read over and over again.... i got a B last year biggrin.gif:D:D
