QUOTE(milnedaniel @ May 16 2005, 09:20 PM)
This is the first year of their new style tho, the course is just Accounting rather than Accounting and Finance, questions weren't integrated like this before

All my subjects were Highers, but I had to work so hard at english, and even then it was my worst result sad.gif .

English was my worst subject too...and I got a B in the prelim and final - just stick in and you'll do OK. Plenty of close reading practice will have you doing that in your sleep - and there's 40 marks already!

lol, good advice,... read over and over again.... i got a B last year biggrin.gif:D:D

#27876 All Over

Posted by Moral Fabric on 25 May 2005 - 02:18 PM in Accounting

QUOTE(Apple @ May 24 2005, 11:46 PM)
We didn't have higher accounts last year cos the course had changed so i gave the school the work i'd got through open learning, so they could run it this year, and in return they still refuse to find a way for me to do adv higher!
i think its ridiculous that its all down to funding for someone to get the education they want, and im gutted that in my last year of school i dont get to sit my best subject!

View Post

It's ridiculous, anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together knows its a specialist subject, thats why its not popular, however it is crucial,... the school couldn't run without accounts. I hate how the 'accounts' cant find a way for them to run the subject that they must have taken.
Bottom line is my family is a tax paying one, and if I want to study (H or AH) accounts, its my money, i should be permitted to,...

its stupid i think, that u have 2 moan 2 get subjects, we should b free to learn anything

S'all down to funding, init. Our department might not have Higher Accounts choice next year although the new 3rd year have 35 canditates and 24 from the current 3rd and 4th.
Our school total pupils is somwhere between 1200 and 1300 it big for the area and yeat the survival of Higher Accounts relies on the schools ability to cover staffing for two other completely unrelated departments, funding should not deprive future accountants the right to learn the science.

QUOTE(milnedaniel @ May 16 2005, 09:13 PM)
ive been told by teachers etc that AH shouldnt be so bad, as i crashed Higher this year as it is not offered in SG in our skool, so thats like 3 years work in 1 year ie, learnin the basics of SG first - however AH is designed for 1 year - even tho it will b harder it mite not be so stressing

good point, but having the SG basics would help

Not too bad i'm hoping.... unsure.gif
I dont think that been taught by an accountant was much different than been taught by a teacher cos in the end it doesn't change the subject thats been taught....if that makes any sense...

View Post

Yeah i guess, my big bro is a chartered accountant and he helps me out sometimes, but my actual teacher probably helped more because he has been trained to do so, although Kenneth (my big bro) helped alot too.

I agree with Dave, but at the same time, you have to admit that MS have very shrewd business minds. They are very smart in what they do but I dont like their abuse of power.

Why down with Microsoft well....

They destroy small business, small business that i may be employed by in say 7 years

They steal ideas and pretend they are there own. For example longhorn, when what i saw of the conference its an exact copy of the new Mac 10.4 OS at least as far as the interface and all the new apps related to the interface
