I received an unconditional offer for entry to the Glasgow science faculty this morning. It's unlikely that I will use it as I am applying for medicine, but still it feels good to have such a quick response.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

I will really need to get my form completed but it will depend on my school sending the form away and I doubt they will do it quickly.

I have almost completed my UCAS thing online in school, jsut the personal statement that's left. I'm not sure about what courses i'm confident i'll get unconditional/conditionals/knockbacks from, i suppsoe nobody is really. Ofcourse i'll need to attend an interview at Jordanhill for primary teaching. Not too confident about it, but i can only go and give it y best shot. Fortunately i'm actually looking to do post grad primary education, but i'm applying this year to keep my options open.

I've written out my Personal Statement over the October holidays, and I am going to show it to the teacher who deals with UCAS when we go back.

Apart from the personal statement the form is fairly straightforward!

I wouldnt say they are useless....as well as having Highers, they also show what your core qualities are....it just makes you look better when you add core skills at Higher, Advanced Higher level ! lol

I've just got a Conditional place at Stirling, meaning I only need a C this year! What other places have given out offers yet except from Glasgow?

3 Conditional offers for Glasgow, i'm a bit confused though, is it suppose to tell us the conditions on this track website? because I don't think mines does. I'll paste it one example, but although is says grade B at bottom, I don't think that's it as one of my courses was one which required me to get 2 a's this year.

what is it that you are wanting to do? I'm certain last year that they specified what you needed the grade in....had the paper copy through yet from them?

They mite have realised u are better than they expected u to be....

even tho its specified 2 As...they mite have offered u a B cos they are impressed with your personal statement and feel u wil be an asset!

last year i got an unconditional, with Admin being one of the Highers I applied with....they prefare science, but still accepted me....my current advisor reckons it was cos my personal statement gave a good impression of me!

shandogg

ps think yourself lucky its only a B u need instead of the As! well done on the offer!
pps let us know if the paper version is any better!
