You should have some knowledge of what both 2NF and 3NF do. I think it was tested on in one of the past papers, even though it's not strictly in the course syllabus.

yeah, we were asked questions on it while revising last year. i think we were taught a little of it, even though we didn't have to be able to do it. not that i remember how to do it, but still!
when i'm dancin' with you,
tomorrow doesn't matter,
turn that music up,
till the windows start to shatter,
cos you're the only one who can get me on my feet,
& i can't even dance

We were taught 2NF, you need to know what its for but don't really need to be able to do it this year.

It seems more like a Business management course to me, with a bit thrown in about computers... I wish they had offered Computing Studies at my school instead.

They should have offered it as well, I like Computing better than info though.

For me, I was told that it was an easy higher, and it is.

Mind-numbingly so.

For me I think it is the worst subject I could have done, because I'm almost NEVER again going to use any of this stuff ever again, so to me, it is pointless. I gave up caring about normalising almost as soon as we started it, and as for Hypermedia... Well, the most exciting bit was going out and taking pictures of my local area for the web site we were designing. We had to sit down and copy out 18 pages of notes about the Amsterdam model, because "That's how people learn best".

Not me.

If I'm sat down and told to copy something out it just goes in one ear and out the other, practically nothing gets caught in between.

One of my views on Info Systems. I have more, but I'm in ECDL just now, so might start to go off on a rant about that soon too tongue.gif

Gavers

P.s. - All what I'm saying is really only pertinant to me, other people will feel differently - These are my views, and I aint trying to impress them on anyone else smile.gif

Course it's easy, thats pretty much what I'm complainin about boyo! tongue.gif

Oh yeah, and the fact that the course is useless for what I'm gonna do at Uni, so is pretty much a waste of time for me.

But that doesn't stop me from trying to actually do the work unsure.gif

When I compare Higher I.S. with Higher mathematics, or Higher physics, I can't really see why they are on the same level. Higher I.S. is more like a mixture of Intermediate 1 Business Management, and Intermediate 1 computing!

Overall, it is mind-numbing and far too nontechnical to deserve a Higher certificate.

I think it should be scrapped completely! ph34r.gif
<MrBob> I hate Uni. At least in film studies we get to talk about Fight Club.
<@X-Factor> Wouldnt you be breaking the first 2 rules?

If it's so easy, why are you all complaining so much? You should be thankful for a 'guaranteed' A pass at higher. wink.gif
