Differentiate y= (x^4 +2) divided by x^3 ????
Split into two fractions: x^4 / x^3 + 2 / x^3
x^4 / x^3 = x and 2 / x^3 = 2x^-3
Now you can differentiate.
Differentiate x gives 1. Differentiate 2x^-3 gives -6x^-4.
Take negative power back down to denominator...
Final answer is 1 - 6 / x^4
