thats actually quite low - 45% for a pass is lower than it is in most subjects
when i'm dancin' with you,
tomorrow doesn't matter,
turn that music up,
till the windows start to shatter,
cos you're the only one who can get me on my feet,
& i can't even dance

They're not too bad - it's just the A % which is higher than 'normal'. smile.gif

Usually around 70%. But for chemistry specifically - around 75-80%.

ohmy.gif - you said before the required percentage for an A was higher than normal, but if normal's 75-80% then surely it isn't?

Sorry, I was a little confused myself you see.
You said the grade boundary for an "A" last year was 75%. Then you said "it's just the A % which is higher than 'normal'." However, it seemed to me a contradiction when you said "Usually around 75-80%" in response to the question "what is the percentage normally needed for an "A"?"

Yeah sorry didn't make myself clear. When I said 'higher than normal' I was comparing it with the standard A mark which is 70%.

I hope the B stays at 60% this year, really want to get a B, the only problems I am having with mole calculations and multiple choice standard grade.

Bloody hell! I'm never gonna get into uni if 75% is what I need for an A. sad.gif

I hope Physics has a lower cut-off mark. English and Maths should be fine for me, as I find them fairly simple.

Sorry, but sometimes has a cut off mark whch is even higher than that, although in 2004 it was reduced substantially as people didn't do very well with that paper.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

Why the hell did they make it harder to get an 'A' in Chemi when it's already like, the hardest science? DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE????? mad.gif

*Sniffle* sad.gif

As long as I pass, I'm not going to redo it, but I really want a B+ ... well, good luck everyone! wink.gif

P.s It's 75% for Bio,. too, isn't it?

Any predictions for this year? Compared to other subjects I really think Chemistry is quite unfair.

I think the ground boundaries for Chemistry are usually quite high anyway. They seem to like it having them fairly high, considering it's supposed to be the 2nd hardest Higher.
