Hi!!
Could someone please explain the part in purple to me??

z = x + iy, w = a + ib

|z-w| = c

|x + iy - (a + ib)| = c

|(x - a) + i(y - b)| = c

|(x - a) + i(y - b)| power2.gif = c power2.gif
(x - a)power2.gif + (y - b)power2.gif = cpower2.gif *

circle centre (a,b), radius c

* why does it become (x - a)power2.gif + (y - b)power2.gif when i[^2] is -1?? unsure.gif
Thanks,
Heather smile.gif
