could sum1 tell me why the answer is A please.

A car is designed with a "crumple zone" so that the front ogf the car collapses during impact.

The purpose of the crumple-zone is to:
A decrease the drivers change in momentum per second.

It isn't B because an increase in change of momentum per second would result in more damage done to the driver (and you obviously don't want a safety feature to do this..)
It's not C because (I assume) the final velocity will be zero in all cases.

If the car always starts at a certain speed (say 10 m/s) and always finishes at 0 m/s for example (as assumed in C)... there will always be the same change in momentum and thus D/E are ruled out too.

So the only option left is A smile.gif
