I was wondering if anyone could help with a couple of these questions which i am stuck on....

Solve (a) 10\sin x^{\circ} = 8 \sin 2x^{\circ} for 0\leq x \leq 360
(b) \cos 2x - \cos x + 1 = 0 for 0\leq x\leq 2\pi

Thank you to anyone who can help

There are examples like these beginning on page 117 of our notes on Trigonometry.

Basically, every time you see a \sin 2x or \cos 2x with a \sin x or a \cos x, you should replace the \sin 2x or \cos 2x using one of the double-angle formulae, which are given in the exam.

Hope this helps. smile.gif
