Have a look through UCAS to see which universities are running that particular course, then have a look through individual prospectuses for the grades.

Are you really focused on just studying Computer Games Design, rather than Computer Science as a whole?

http://gamedev.net is a good place to start!

Also helps to be good with trigonometry and matrix manipulation. And by good, I mean outstanding.
<MrBob> I hate Uni. At least in film studies we get to talk about Fight Club.
<@X-Factor> Wouldnt you be breaking the first 2 rules?

I haven't been here for a LONG time...

Anyway; hi Andy, if you're still there. I'm a second year Computer Games Technology student at Abertay, so if you want to know anything about the course, or the games industry itself, feel free to ask. smile.gif Just post any specific questions you have in this topic, and I'll try to stay active over the next few weeks in order to respond.

No, the pay isn't good. Personally, I don't care; I'd rather have job satisfaction over money any day. smile.gif

1. Okay, so I did months of research into this when choosing a course myself, and my conclusion was: CGT at Abertay is the best BSc games degree in the UK, and (excluding one, maybe two courses in America) the world. I'll happily give you some of the details that lead to this conclusion, but I encourage you to find this out for yourself by googling the Abertay course.

2. The entrance requirements for Abertay are: AABB at Higher including Mathematics, but if your personal statement is good you can get in with less. Other games courses will ask for less - the Paisley course is BBCC at Higher including Mathematics, for example.

3. 4 years.
