I got:

Chemistry (H) - A
Geography (H) - A
Human Biology (H) - A
English (H) - B
Maths (H) - B

I was a bit gutted about getting a B in English as I was on target for an A, however the B in Maths more than makes up for it as I was expecting to fail!

Off out for lunch!

Wouldn't be too bothered about English. You are never really on target for anything in a subject like English as the exam can vary so much.

Just managed to get on, and I'm happy with some of my results, not so happy with others.

English H: C
Admin H: C
Chem H: C
Maths H: B
Geography H: B

Im dead chuffed with maths and chem, since I thought I was going to fail both (and actually failed the prelims of both). Pissed off about English and Admin though. Admins my best damn subject, I got an A in the f*cking prelim and I get a C here...Probably my practical grade dragged me down, seeing as the teacher hadn't taught us about a quarter of the material in the bloody paper. English, well lets just say I'm going to have to avoid the English department...a lot this year. I got a C in the prelim, and was on track for a bloody A in the final exam, its what I was estimated to get! Bloody hell!

I'm not too upset about Geography, I was wanting an A, but a B's still good in my book.

I just got my results there after a whole morning of chickening out and I'm so glad I did!! I'm off to uni!!

I got:

Accounting(H) A
Business Management (H) A
English (H) B
Mathematics(H) B
Chemistry(H) C

The 2 subjects I crashed this year I got A's for and I am delighted as I have met my BBBBC conditional!

Is it just me that thought "meh, it wont matter, only a day early" when getting the letter about this and then wishing I had registered now that I can't? biggrin.gif

I found my letter. With my password on.

*cries*

Why does the system have to be so stupid, even my bank account online is easier to get back into when I'm locked out.

Congrats everyone!!

I'm delighted with my results, except maths which i expected unfortunately

Maths-C
English-A
French-A
History-A
Biology-A

Hopeful of appeal for maths as i got 68% in the prelim and if this is not sufficient evidence, looks like another year of slogging it out with maths!! Yippee, can't contain my excitement...

Hope you all get the results you want. Good Luck!

Adv Maths: A
Adv Chemistry: A
Adv English: C

Really gutted about that C. Means I've missed my Oxford offer, but I'm really certain there's something wrong. I mean, I let a family friend at Edinburgh Uni proof-read all my stuff and he said it was definitely A grade calibre. The way I felt after the English exam was great; I was confident I'd done well and written an excellent essay on the day... Hopefully it's just a typo:)

Do the first three subjects here have any overlap (apart from the applied maths/regular maths) as I am looking at that exact choice myself for next year.

Would you recommend it, or drop chemistry, or take something else?

Cheers
There's a lot of overlap. In mechanics you look at stuff like simple harmonic motion, motion in a circle, projectile etc. which will all be familiar from physics (once you've done the mechanics unit of advanced higher). It's not really a case of having to learn new stuff, just answer different (harder, in my opinion) questions on it. But you'll get through fine with a physicists intuition and a mathematicians manipulation.

Sorry to hear that mate sad.gif Hopefully it is a typo, but if it's not sounds like you've got a case for putting an appeal through, I think they do it quickly if it affects your uni place.

I got:

French (H): A
Music (H): A
Modern Studies (H): A
History (H): A
English (H): B

I was a little bit disappointed with the B in English, but I'm taking advanced higher next year so I have plenty opportunity to make up for it!
