Do the first three subjects here have any overlap (apart from the applied maths/regular maths) as I am looking at that exact choice myself for next year.
Would you recommend it, or drop chemistry, or take something else?
Cheers
There's a lot of overlap. In mechanics you look at stuff like simple harmonic motion, motion in a circle, projectile etc. which will all be familiar from physics (once you've done the mechanics unit of advanced higher). It's not really a case of having to learn new stuff, just answer different (harder, in my opinion) questions on it. But you'll get through fine with a physicists intuition and a mathematicians manipulation.

Adv Maths: A
Adv Chemistry: A
Adv English: C
Really gutted about that C. Means I've missed my Oxford offer, but I'm really certain there's something wrong. I mean, I let a family friend at Edinburgh Uni proof-read all my stuff and he said it was definitely A grade calibre. The way I felt after the English exam was great; I was confident I'd done well and written an excellent essay on the day... Hopefully it's just a typo:)

Sorry to hear that mate

Hopefully it is a typo, but if it's not sounds like you've got a case for putting an appeal through, I think they do it quickly if it affects your uni place.
