How crashable is modern studies?
I did Standard Grade and Higher Geography so am crashing it this year. I've heard it can be difficult and theres a lot in it... Do you think it'll be an easy subject to crash in 5th year?
Cheeeeers =)

I expect if you enjoyed the human parts of the Higher Geography course and have a bit of an interest in Politics you won't have much trouble. Then again, all I know about the Higher Modern Studies course is the wee bits I've read on this forum.

as long as you put the work in then you will be fine there was a couple of people crashing it this year and they seemed to find it ok
if you have an interest in it its so much easier especially if you have a teacher that tends to talk a lot and plus theres people here that will be able to help you if you get confused with things

Yeh cheers, making me all feel a bit more confident haha. Well in second year it was my favourite social subject, but very stupidly I picked geography for some reason... think all my pals were doing it (I know, I know - very naive!
hehe). Well the human parts of geography where about the only parts I enjoyed in it... lmao
And yeh I do have a bit of an interest in politics and stuff!
Do you need to have a background standard grade knowledge? The teacher said she would give me some standard grade books to read up on british politics and stuff... :s

even we had to look at standard grade books through our course lol half the stuff you forget so if u do need any standard grade knowledge (eg founding principles of NHS) usually your teacher will give u a copy of facts and figures or you will look at the standard grade book u'll be fine
sounds like you will enjoy the course then

Hey,
I'm crashing it this year too (unless the columns have to change which is a possibility) and I've been told it should be OK if you are prepared to work and are into politics and have a knowledge about the world around you etc...
Should be good craic
