Messed up question 6 - did all the factorising and stuff but then managed to say that cos x=0 at 0 and 360 mad.gif Hopefully I'll get some marks for the working anyway.

I made this mistake too! tongue.gif

Last years pass marks...
2006:

A - 78% (101/130)
B - 64% (83/130)
C - 51% (66/130)
D - 44% (57/130)

Do the mark for an A not seem REALLY high? Almost 10% above the norm?
This year, I can see it being much lower.
I got a B in my prelim, and I think I've got about at total of 48/60 and 40/70, so 88/130 which wouldve been a good B last year. I think that it'll still be about a B this year, because if the pass mark is lowered to about 73% then thats still 94 marks.

What do the rest of you think the grade boundaries are likely to be?

yep I was looking at this earlier - 101/130 is crazily high to me. Goin thru this years I think Im lucky if Ive got 90/130 so unlikely the pass mark will go that low - oh well hope I get a B.

Last year it was so high simply because the exam was so easy - this year it's much harder and it'll be refelcted on everyone's results so the pass marks will be loewered I think...

so if, for example an A came down to about 73%, would this push down a C to 46???

Well it isn't often as simple as that, but yeh - if it was found to be as hard over the whole region and a lot of people have done as bad as we say, lol, then the pass mark should me dramatically lower... If the pass mark for one grade is lower - the rest also is lower...

Just like last year the paper was easier - so the mark for a C was higher, likewise that of a B or A.

I pray that it is lowered so I can actually get a C tongue.gif

Paper one: Easy although I mucked up a few questions I believe (stupid polynomials dry.gif)

Paper two: Done first page really easy, turned over the page and thought I was in hell.

I'm not even going to look at the solutions as after the exam I came home, had a wee cry and fell asleep for 3 hours tongue.gif

Question 8 in paper 2 was worth 4 marks. In paper one is was worth 9 marks altogether.

I'm sure you will pick up marks here and there wink.gif
