I did standard grade french in 4th year and I got a 1 for it. Now I'm thinking about taking higher in 6th year and we have to decide next week...does anyone think it would be a good/bad idea?? dry.gif

Go for it, especially if you think the teachers are good.

I did exactly that a couple of years ago. When I did SG I had a bit of trouble with the listening part but I kept working on it and managed to come out of Higher with an A without too much grief. If you enjoy the subject, like the teachers and the people in the class it'll probably be great. I liked Higher so much I did it in my first year at uni, though unfortunately it sucked at Glasgow uni! Back to the point... just because you've been out of it for a year doesn't make it much harder, it's easy enough to get back into!
The race is long, and in the end it's only with yourself.

I did my higher french in 6th year too. It wasn't too hard to get back into it after a year gap.

I never put much work in to it though sad.gif

Good idea in my opinion, Higher French is easy for most
<MrBob> I hate Uni. At least in film studies we get to talk about Fight Club.

Maybe the exam is easy to pass but to be good at a foreign language you need to put the effort in.

Well, I've decided to take it biggrin.gif I mean, really it's just another higher, but theoretically it means that there's a wider range of stuff I'll be able to do after school, well, if I pass that is! And I like it, and would like to think it likes me, so I'm just going to emmm...'take the bull by the horns'! Thanks for all your advice though. x
