The only piece of poetry that we've done for English is Tam o'Shanter by Robert Burns - tis amazing! i've been getting great marks for the questions on this so i'm gonna use it for the exam. We've also looked at Romeo and Juliet and read Marrakech by George Orwell. Not much, but we've done everything very detailed so hopefully i'll be alright!

This year, my class has studied:

POEMS:
"Trio" by Edwin Morgan
"Shooting Stars" by Carol Anne Duffy

PLAY:
"Hamlet" by William Shakespeare. (Btw, it is such a great play! I love it!)

NOVEL:
"Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde" by Robert Louis Stevenson (Zzzz......)

smile.gif
Brooke: Lucas is the one for me.
Chris: Actually, my name is Chris.

Brooke: Look, whatever you heard, you heard WRONG!
Chris: So you're NOT into me?!
Brooke: NO!

Chris (singing to Brooke): Lucas and Haley aren't back yet, but you can come into the devil's lair, drop your things, have sex with Chris Keller, WHATEVER!

Drama : Romeo and Juliet - most years a question has came up that is brilliant for this, so should be ok smile.gif

Prose: Jekyll and Hyde - only using as a back-up plan, if one for Romeo and Juliet doesn't come up (quite unlikely) or more likely, in case none of the tasks fit the poems i'm doing blink.gif . Jekyll and Hyde is quite complicated, the only time i would do an essay on it in the exam is if the question asks mainly about the themes : i'd just be able to ramble on and on about the two different sides of human nature and blah blah blah...

Poems : Sparrow by Norman Mac Caig and First Blood by Jon Stallworthy

Aim is to get good questions on Romeo and Juliet, and Sparrow, if there is a feather's chance in hell in me getting an A, then there just has to be good questions on them. If not.. well i completely suck at close reading = i will be screwed rolleyes.gif
