thought the english prelim was really hard this year, especially the critical essays... none of the questions seemed relevant. I only got a C overall and I was predicted at least a B so I'm determined to pull up my grde in the next 9 weeks! How did you all get on?

Only two people in my class passed, and about a dozen in the year overall. I only got 50% which I wasn't too shocked about considering I felt it was pretty hard, but I'm going to pull that up to at least a B for the final exam.

In my school there was a rumour that the average mark was a fail.. thank god it WAS just a rumour. I got 59.. one mark off a B, so that was annoying.

What was yer paper about? Mines was about George Best.

I got 57% sad.gif which I wasn't really that pleased with. Ours was about stress aswell; I thought it was slightly ironic to be honest!

Got 35/50 for the close reading. I'm quietly pleased since i'm rubbish at English. The teacher hasn't marked the essays yet... dry.gif

Yeah, we did that one too. I hate english, I failed my prelim. Not even close to passing, considering I only passes one essay out of the whole exam.

You all did way better than everyone in my year.

The highest was a 63%!

I got 34% which isn't that bad considering the worst was 0%.

we did the george best passage too. i think only 5 people in our entire year got an A, the highest percentage 68%. but most people did so badly they had to lower the boundries to: 65% for an A, 55% for a B and 44% for a C. nt sure what it was for a D. i myself got a C blink.gif did ok in the essays 18 n 14 but did diabolical n got 18.5 in the close reading sad.gif gotta lot of work to do on the close reading...

Our school did terrible at it too, but they didn't lower the grades. All our teachers say that they'd rather be pessimistic so that we get a good shock when the results come through rather than be optimistic and have a bad shock, which I agree with.

most of our teachers' predicted grades for us were infact accurate. Except of course for mine. I guess she hadn't taken my inability to do maths into the equation. sweatingbullets.gif lol

I did the George Best one also, I didn't know schools used the same paper. I got a C for the close reading and an A for the writing, so averaging at a B.
