Calculate the storage requirements for:
(1) A 1 inch X 2 inch image at 200 dpi in true colour
(2) An image 160 X 102 pixels in size, in greyscale
Could you please supply working....

1) 1 x 2 x 200 x 200 x 24 = 1920000 bits => 240000 bytes = 234 kB
2) 160 x 102 x the number of bits in greyscale (not sure just now) => do the same calculation as above..

1. 1 x 2 = 2 square inches
200 x 200 = 40000 dots per square inch
2 x 40000 = 80000 pixels
80000 x 24 = 1920000 bits
1920000 / 8 = 240000 bytes
240000 / 1024 = 234.38 KB
2. 160 x 102 = 16320 pixels
16320 x 8 = 130560 bits
130560 / 8 = 16320 bytes
16320 / 1024 = 15.93 KB
200 x 200 = 40000 dots per square inch

80000 x 24 = 1920000 bits
1920000 / 8 = 240000 bytes
240000 / 1024 = 234.38 KB
2. 160 x 102 = 16320 pixels
16320 x 8 = 130560 bits
