Thats on flooding in the Sudan, its just been anounced that at least 30 lives were claimed.
Thats about the increase is midwifery in Darfur. Not necessarily directly useful for any particular part of the course, but good back ground information, and possibly a decent up to date example of Development and Health.
Sudanese refugee's in Israel face deportation despite no real resolution of the reasons they became refugee's.
Scientists once again try to talk the US into doing something about Global Warming.
Again not exactly directly related to anything in the course, but could be used as an example of human degradation and destruction of healthy ecosystems.

A fairly powerful earthquake has just hit northwest Japan. Worryingly one of the structures affected was a nuclear power plant, which suffered a fire and a water leak, straight into the Sea of Japan.
