the thing is that we have to do these prelims then in april/march we have more prelims so stupid i wish we could only have 1 (well at my school we av 2 dunno about othus) but only for certain subjects such as chemistry n maths

the joys of school sad.gif
We have to do this aswell sad.gif We were told we were getting given prelims at this time so we wouldn't "slack up", although I don't see how it's physically possible to "slack up" when you are given three prelims and two investigations to write up in two weeks sad.gif /rant

god damit i missed an A in my maths prelim by one scrawny mark.
Ahh, unlucky man. My friend had the same thing in his maths prelim, but at least you know you're very much on course for an A in the final smile.gif

That's a shame, good luck with getting the A though. I think that the SQA will take into accuont the difficulty of your prelim if you have to use it for appeals though, so I wouldn't worry too much smile.gif

Hope you come out with a good grade smile.gif I always thought that it's difficult to judge paper 1 (hell, everything's difficult without a calculator tongue.gif) so you never know!

Anyway, that's me all done. I got my final two grades back today:
Physics - A (84%)
Chemistry - A (84%)
The marks I've dropped in physics were pretty much all for stuff I didn't understand properly, so at least I know exactly where to concentrate on in time for finals. I've not seen my chemistry paper in detail yet so I don't know what I lost marks for there. Overall I'm chuffed though smile.gif Now it's just a simple case of writing two 2500 word investagations for Friday...

Urgh, you at the write up stages?
I'm at the experiment/wtf am I meant to be doing with this thing stage.

I'm hoping to sort all the experiments out during study leave, or at least work out what I'm doing. I can definately do one subject's experiments, not so sure about biology.

84% is good going.

Yip well done on those for physics and chemistry- excellent scores smile.gif

I got a couple of mine back today

Advanced Higher Geography: 68%

Higher Maths: 68% - teacher said that if that was the final exam that mark would have been an A due to the sheer difficulty of the paper so i was rather pleased especially after believing i had failed.

Just waiting on Business Management now...

Well, I should be at the writeup stage. I done my writeup for physics, but I've not even started for chemistry (it was due last Friday, damn procastination).

I remember the "wtf am I meant to be doing" stage. I took done far too much in-depth research of my topics, I thought the more I wrote down for theory the less I would have to do experimentally. It didn't really work like that though, and I found that once I actually started doing my experiments things started to fall into a more logical structure, and (shock gasp horror) it was even quite enjoyable. I hope your investigation goes well, it probably is a good idea to have experiments planned before you do them.

Hehe, just goes to show you should be more confident in your abilities! Well done with those scores though, definately on course for an A in both of them smile.gif

I keep forgetting people have prelims going on now. ohmy.gif

Look slike you are all getting As. Well done! Bright sparks.

(If you've done crap, don't worry too much about it. Who cares to be honest...this time next year you'll have forgotten all about them and the marks that you did get will be totally and utterly worth nothing. I think I failed all my prelims or did quite rubbish. That was due to total procrastination, absolute laziness and no study whatsoever. My big sister has already forgotten she was a straight A student in both her highers and advanced highers. laugh.gif Just goes to show eh. )

As long as you work for your final exams and get into the uni you want to get in to, all is fine. In my opinion, study leave is just great for a skive. happy.gif

Don't listen to me, by the way. I give crap advice! huh.gif

er, if you're getting the credits for it, why do you need to resit? unsure.gif

tomorrow doesn't matter,
turn that music up,
till the windows start to shatter,
cos you're the only one who can get me on my feet,
& i can't even dance
