I've got a bit of homework here on buoyancy and i don't really understand it huh.gif

it's about a camera suspended from a winch from a boat; i have part (a)sketch the camera and forces acting on it and (b) calculate the size of the buoyancy force

but part © explain how the buoyancy force is produced, is giving me some problems - i think i will be able to do (d) and (e) if i know ©

The Bouyancy Force is created by the force below the object being greater than the force above the object, and if you take the force above the object from the force below the object you get the Bouyancy force IIRC.

Bouyancy force is produced by the camera displacing a certain mass of water when it is lowered. So a buoyancy force is created equal to the weight(mg) of the camera.
