I type properly in fully structured sentences at all times. And I still type faster with one hand than the rest of my school does with two. For example, here is exactly what someone on my MSN contact list has for a display name right now:

lol cami ya dik campin wiz sum laf lol

Obviously blocked. I block anyone who doesn't type at least partially properly. Spell "you" with a y and an o and you've got my attention for another five seconds. Deciphering 1337-speak is not worth my effort.

An elitist attitude to the whole thing doesn't help either.

They just need a little nudge in the right direction, not shot down outright.

If I know them, and they're not just someone that randomly adds me that I have no idea who they are (as often happens), I'll let them know that I hate people typing like that, and they should make an effort to type properly. But if they're just a ned with no purpose in life, ignoring them completely works fine for me.

It really depends on who I'm talking to, some people feel intimidated by correct grammar and stuff because it looks all official. Most of the time I don't capitalize, and I don't use periods at the end of single sentences (if I'm typing a paragraph, then yeah, I'll use a period to separate). With you guys I feel obliged to type like this, whereas on more casual forums my posts would probably take a different form entirely ;D

If there were straight-jackets for everyone that needed them, no-one would be able to type so nothing would happen

but i definetly agree with the lollypops bit, if anyone is thinking about increasing the lollypop count, i like the strawberry and cream ones

I usually hate it when people don't use proper grammer and spelling on the internet. It annoys me. But sometimes, when I'm being lazy, I don't type 'proper'.
