Damn. This year has been hellish applying for my Loan and Fees.

I waited 20 mins in a phone queue only to be told to phone someone else - no thanks.

Tried online, didn't work - I've been given the wrong number.

Emailed SAAS - waited ages for a reply.

Finally applied... and have heard nothing yet... sad.gif

I sent my application away, and they receieved it on the 25th August. So it says I should wait 28 days before worrying about not getting a reply! So I'll just have to wait! tongue.gif

I've already had my award notice, because I applied early like a good boy biggrin.gif

However, they took 92 off me because I was apparantly overpaid last year. I sent in evidence from last year to get it re-assessed, but I've not heard from them yet sad.gif

I think the key is to apply in the summer when they're not so busy (maybe I shouldn't have tipped you all off ph34r.gif )

If you do it in March/April when they start the loan applications for the new session then all the trouble you ppl have been reporting doesnt happen. It's a pain to have to do it every year but its just one of those things lol.

Another reason I do it early is because St Andrews will not let you matriculate as a student until you have proof that tuition fees will be paid for. Tho I believe other uni's are a lot more flexible about that and give you a few weeks to sort it out after matricualtion.

I sent mine on 15th August and got it the other day.

By the way, Glasgow let you hand in the letter late... I know a few people who didn't have it until October and they just gave it to the registry.

And are tuition fees not just 1200 (sorry to be picky!)?

see i didnt think that was the case, i was under the impression the reason england have top up fees is because the fees do not vary from course to course or uni to uni

If i am not here i am somewhere else

Yeah, I thought that wasn't the case here either, as I noticed most courses have a fee of 1,175 up here, hence the maximum tutuion fee payable here being 1,200.

If Heriot Watt's tuition fees come to 1700, then obviously 1200 is not the maximum payable up here.
