Maths - A
English - A
Chemistry - A
Biology - A
Geography - A
Adv Music - A

I was more relieved than pleased, cos I got 6As in my prelims and the pressure was really on me from parents, teachers and other wee bastards (I'm a highly competitive academic dry.gif how gay am I?)...

Now, I'm going to sit 4 more advanced highers even though I want to leave and go to uni next year - nothing in Clearing tempted me...

Not aimed at Ally, but academia en generale: why does everyone assume that anyone who gets 5As is destined for medicine? Frankly, I couldn't think of a more cliched path and I think you should maybe consider if it is really for you, or for your benefactors. I know that my parents and teachers (with the best intentions) were all pushing me into medicine, slowly and easily - much in the same way a glacier moves through a V-shaped valley, but oh how I long to care for such geographical images anymore biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

ohmy.gif Nice results!

The whole medicine thing annoys me aswell. Obviously it's great that it's such a popular subject and stuff, but it is really annoying that everyone assumes that everyone with good grades will be a medic. I went to see a senior teacher at my school about doing a subject that's not offered at the school next year and he asked why I wanted to do it, because it wouldn't be particularly useful for a medic. I've never expressed the slightest bit of interest in doing medicine, he must have just assumed blink.gif
