You too ad absurdum, awesome results there. Em, yeh im doing the Mechanics Units of the Applied Maths course. Not really sure about universities. I think that id try for Strathclyde if i was going to a Scottish uni, but i was thinking of trying for Imperial College London, or Durham, or Loughborough or somewhere like that. Looking to do mechanical engineering, but at Imperial they say they want three As at A-level, so id need all As to get in. What a nightmare! What about you?
Cool, that's what I'm doing in applied maths aswell (and what most people seem to do). Nice choice in universities, I was going to try for Imperial aswell but I've decided not to because I couldn't afford to live in London. Durham's a nice little place though by the looks of it, and has a very good reputation for the maths/physics stuff apparently. Yeah, unfortunately the top English unis seem bent on driving final year students crazy with stress, but on the bright side you should get an unconditional offer from a Scottish uni based on your grades. I'm going to do maths with physics, not really sure of where yet, but I know that I'm going to apply for Cambridge (might aswell, if I don't get in it's no big deal, if I do I think I would really enjoy it), Durham (for the reasons previously mentioned) and St. Andrews (my chemistry teacher told me the ratio of females to males is 2:1, I'm not sure I believe him but it did stir my interest in the uni).

Yeh and the reason im doing an AS in philosophy is because the teacher doesn't like the Higher course (thinks it too easy) and has made everyone do the tougher course. Not cool.
That is quite nasty actually

Still, philosophy is one of those things were difficulty isn't really an issue if you do enjoy it. Unfortunately our school doesn't offer it and I'd say that whilst I love some philosophy (Nietzsche, Kant) I wouldn't be able to handle all the Plato without help from a teacher, so I've deceided not to attempt it. Anyway, hope you enjoy the course as it does sound interesting.
