Can't wait for Mine

Dundee have Zane Lowe(Oh wait I think, may need to check that one) Colin Murray, Fearne Cotton, Holly Willoghby, ROY WALKER-To Present Catchphrase, a pirate night, a Club Med night(ie Club 18-30, in the union)Karaoke, QUizes etc and a couple of days where things are just given away, I can't wait although the pass is 40 which seems dearer than the rest although a few nights are 8 and most events are 4 or 5

I remember last year at Strathclyde they had Jo and Bradley from S Club 7, and a casino night. That's about all I can remember, and a Barony Bar which was way too warm! smile.gif

The traders fair is a must, it's just basically a chance just to go and bag yourself as much free stuff as possible!

All I know is the chances are everyone's going to go get drunk every night. Something I'm quite happy to avoid. biggrin.gif

Not everyone will, it wears off very quickly after a few nights when people have the reality check of seeing their bank balance. Its quite a shocker, I certainly wont be getting off my face every night, for one i cant afford to and secondly, I did it all last year anyway so what is the point of doing it again?

the only part of freshers week i'll be going to is the traders fair. freebies galore. plus a visit to the party in your pocket bus is a must of course. other than that, i'll be avoiding the union for freshers week & the few weeks following - its too damn busy until people start skiving off classes!
when i'm dancin' with you,
tomorrow doesn't matter,
turn that music up,
till the windows start to shatter,
cos you're the only one who can get me on my feet,
& i can't even dance

I'm too poor to afford anything, I'll have to save all I can for food! Any ideas on getting jobs in the university?

True enough, though I do get to go to a large country house for a weekend with the orchestra and get merry a little later in the year smile.gif, that s going to be quite costly so I will probably save money for that.

Well, Freshers' Week hasn't even started here (Glasgow) yet, but our flat is still having a great time. Have to say, haven't found many folk from the west coast here! Infact, only 2 others apart from myself. Aberdonians, French, German, Geordie, Liverpudlian, Irish and (perhaps MacLeod will know them!) a few folk from the Isle of Lewis!

Edit: Previous information regarding The Hoffmeister was a LIE propagated to me by a Strathy student. Well, a part lie - apparently he's actually going to be there at Christmas. Which is still good I guess!

I'm going to the Glasgow freshers fair tomorrow and strathy's on friday. Might be poppig along to see the vengaboys on wed, not sure though.

Like broughy, my main concern is the PIYP card - not paid into the garage once this year - mucho saving.

The Snapfax is a fiver this year, the savings however mean it's totally worth it. They have added cineworld, dorothy perkins and new look (plus more) aswell. I think it's a must have actually.

i got my snapfax for 2 - i rule, lol. got to pre-order it on the website with a special code because i had one last year so was on the mailing list.

the one major crap thing this year is NUS. the NUS in their infinate wisdom, have decided that their discount card is going to cost a tenner. rip off, muchly. luckily most places don't ask for an actual NUS card, just any student card will do.

Not being in the NUS is great, I still get all the discounts anyway and Snapfax in St Andrews is completely free. The fact that its completely useless and doesnt have many useful discounts is another matter tho dry.gif

nah, some places only give the discount with an NUS. the main one i have a problem with is Peacocks, they only do NUS discount. topshop used to be the same, but they don't seem to be as bad with it any more, & also HMV were the same, but i dunno if they still ask for an NUS card because i've not bought anything in there in ages!
