What are peoples predicitions for the world cup, me id love nothing more than to see the events of 1966 happen again

I want the hosts to win a Germany v England final with one of their "goals" not being over the line

I also hope someone dives to win a penalty against England to see Ian Wrights reaction

Some people say that Jason Scotland white shirt number 10 is a cheat.

Those in the know will tell you differently

I like to be a wee bit different and go for a country who aren't fancied by everyone, so I've put a wee bet on the Dutch to win. smile.gif

I thought Huntelaar will be top goalscorer, then he didn't get picked!

Unlucky! laugh.gif

My "top goalscorer" bet went on Van Nistelrooy. How original. rolleyes.gif

Serbia and Montenegro. Only conceded ONE goal in World Cup qualification and have a 6ft 8" striker. Dark horses.

My other outside bet would be Ukraine. Could well provide some upsets.

Largely because Iran compete against regional opponents - Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebannon, UAE etc whereas Scotland compete with European opponents.

At the time of qualification, I'm not too sure that Scotland would necessarily have beaten Iran anyway! laugh.gif

Anyhow, no slagging Iran - their striker Ali Daei has scored more international level goals than any other player in the world, ever.

my predictions are a little out there

Brazil - not to make it out the group

Ecuador - to make the quarter finals

England - to score less than 4 goals in the tournament

Ukraine- to reach the final

Argentina- to win it

I'd like to see what odds the bookies would give you for that! Mind you, with England not winning it I'd be happy enough for the above to happen.

So that means you won't be giving England your full backing in The World Cup? Excuse me while I phone 999 and report the crime! laugh.gif

I better report myself too for saying I didn't want England to win.

Even more so after David James' interview the other day...

(Reporter): So David, does it upset you not to be in the first XI?
(James): No, cos' I'll be coming home with a winners medal anyway.
