Could you explain the steps to Question 1 on page 3 of these notes to me as I am completely lost!

Sorry if I've confused you, the working in that example is wrong tongue.gif (the down side of using copy and paste).

I've fixed it now and made a new PDF with the right working.

If anyone else spots anything that they think might be wrong, please say - it will help us to perfect the notes biggrin.gif

I think there's an error in the bottom of page 11 in the Unit 1 notes.

Thanks Ally, Steve will fix that error in Unit 1 (the answer to example 3 should have power -1/2 rolleyes.gif).

We can't see a missing number in Q2 though; perhaps you could give us more detail?

On top of the four I think, unless my vision is failing me.

It's on page 3 in the 'More Complex Examples' bit in Unit 3 Outcome 2.

Did you find that error?

Also in the Easter Revision Notes on page 5, you haven't included the 'mad diagram' under the 'Differentiated Graphs' section. tongue.gif

Sorry ally, we missed your earlier post. And we still can't see what you mean - is it the pi that's the problem?

As for the 'mad diagram', its in the notes on Unit 1 Outcome 3, under "Graphs of Derived Functions". I'm sure you'll agree, it is rather mad looking! We'll update the Easter Revision notes at some point; thanks for pointing that out.

You said there is a number missing at the top of Example 2 in the More Complex Examples for Unit 3 Outcome 2. This example covers differentiating a cos function using the chain rule. Can you be more specific in describing what's wrong?

I believe the symbol for "PI" was missing on the last page when I printed mine out!

Sorry, I can't see anything blink.gif

Please be really specific about what file you're looking at, what page the error is on, exactly where it is, what's missing, where it should go, etc.

Thanks!

OK:

Unit : 3
Outcome: 2
Page : 3
Section: 'Differentiating (ax+B )n
Part : 'More Complex Examples'
Question : 2
Missing: y=cos(2x + ?/4)

I hope this helps. Does anyone else understand what I'm talking about or is it just my pc?

I've had another look and I see the pi.

Do you have the latest copy of Adobe Reader? If not you can donload it here.

You might want to try downloading the notes again - you can get them here (making it easy aren't I tongue.gif)

Please let me know how you get on.

That link is fixed now. We've changed the way the downloads page works, so all the old links have stopped working. I'll try and fix it smile.gif
