Through fourth and fifth year I had a saturday job in the bakery! at the beginning of 6th year I got a job as a waitress, i get 4.30 an hour and a few weeks ago i started as an auxiliary nurse in the hospital! not sure what I get paid but i do know it is 6 pounds something. After 7pm I get time and a third, think time and a half at weekends. Not bad really, although I work loads I still don't have money!! dry.gif

I work as a sales assistant in Birthdays. The wages are pants but it's handy to where I live and I like the people.
You'll never bring me down, cos' i'm so far above you...

What is it you do as an auxiliary nurse? How'd you find out about the job? I've wanted to work in a hospital for a while!

Know what you mean about having no money... I've spent so much in the last week it makes me feel sick!

Uni students and lack of money are unavoidable. Its soo expensive (shudders at how much he's spent!)

not true actually! possibly if you're living away from home, but i'm not too badly off - i have both my student loans for this year & last year saved in a nice high interest account & just live off what i earn in morrisons. it is do-able! when i start driving lessons in a few weeks time, it'll be the first time i've actually touched my student loan in 2 years of having it!

Well, i live away from home, St Andrews is quite expensive to live in, if I had stayed at home and went to Aberdeen uni, then I would be in the same situation as you smile.gif. But alas not, I still love it anyway, its just the few days before the student loans come in that everyone here is feeling the pinch a bit lol

Got bout 5 jobs at the mo lol tongue.gif

Lifeguard at 2 different pools ... £5.91 / hr

Anutha random lifeguarding for muslims? £12 for 1.5hrs

Teaching swimming (council) ... £10.60 / hr biggrin.gif

Teaching swimming (club) ... £8 / hr

So there u hav it! i know nobody reeeally cares but hey! im bored tongue.gif

oh and sum occasional private lessons (£10 for 1/2 an hour!!)

Ditto! I got a student loan this year and haven't touched a penny of it. It's sitting in a savings account that i only plan to use in an emergency, so i live off my bursary and my wages. I don't think im gonna apply for a loan next term though since i haven't felt any need to use it this year. I am rather skint at the moment though due to going out almost every night and having a holiday to pay off plus spending money!

i am skint and doubt i will be going out on saturday. This has probably sometihng to do with not having a loan, bursary, travel expenses, job or anything.

Anyone know any good job searching sites? I know of s1jobs.co.uk (which is pretty good) and also the jobcentre one (which is shit). Any more...

i am using scotcareers.co.uk these days there is a lot of decent jobs in there. Also using reed job agency for temping, not that i have gotton anything yet

I just accepted a part time job at Next today. smile.gif

8 hour contract but lots of overtime coming up because of the sales.
